Victorian residence
Location: Rathgar, South Dublin
An impressive two story Victorian 5 bedroom home built in 1863, with an existing extension.
Reconfigure, define and fuse were the corner stones of the design brief.
Two clients with very different styles, contemporary and traditional, epitomized the goal of the renovation, to marry the old with the new while accommodating the needs of a busy household.
An entire renovation of this home was carried out, with new layouts and structural changes made. Extensive internal architectural plans were developed and finalized in conjunction with Edge Design & Construction. Custom joinery is consistent throughout the renovation. Bespoke furniture was also created for the new home, with every piece serving an important role within the space. Art Deco antiques and mid century furniture were key choices though out the interiors. An earthy colour pallet was carried throughout, combining tonal greens and linen tones connecting the two floors and throughout the extension. With the exception of navy tones and deep salmon used in the TV & boot room.
